  • A Parent's Handbook

Inclusion BC created the first Parent’s Handbook on Inclusive Education in 1993 to help families learn about their children’s rights, understand the educational system in British Columbia, and offer advocacy support. This latest edition offers you the knowledge, information, and resources you need to make sure your child and other children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and support needs have equitable access to their education.

  • BC Government Policies

The purpose of this manual is to provide a single point of reference regarding legislation, ministry policy, and guidelines to assist school boards in developing programs and services that enable students with disabilities or diverse abilities to meet the goals of education.

The manual also contains procedural information to assist in accessing programs and services provided at the provincial level. It is intended primarily for the use of principals, school-based teams, and inclusive educational professionals, but may also prove of interest to other professionals within the education, social service, or health care communities, to parents, and to members of the public at large.

  • Childcare Standards

The Inclusive Child Care Toolkit is a user-friendly resource intended to support high quality inclusive practices in child care settings throughout British Columbia. Inclusion in this context is supporting all children to participate fully within child care regardless of their abilities. The purpose of this toolkit is to guide you as child care staff to reflect and expand your understanding of inclusion in your child care programs.
